Rozy takes care of stray cats in her area and one day she saw a new cat among the group. A beautiful seal point cat quietly showed up during feeding time. The cat started returning every day & would wait outside her windows. He slowly became brave enough to walk into the kitchen to eat and let Rozy touch him. Rozy checked with neighbors & posted online to find out if anyone had lost a cat.

Some people had seen him around but nobody claimed him as their own. The cat became more relaxed around Rozy and would come to her for pets and head rubs. She still could not pick him up so she reached out to Chatons Orphelins Montreal for assistance.

When the cat came back the following day he seemed very sick. He had almost no energy and would not eat. This time he allowed Rozy to pick him up and she found a wound under his thick matted fur that probably came from fighting.

She took him straight to a vet clinic where they named him Bali. The vet treated Bali for an abscess and removed all the matted fur. The rescue explained that he had been living outside for months and was not good at surviving on his own. He was hurt and his coat was in such bad shape that he would not have made it through winter. Bali was frightened but he let the vet staff help him because he seemed to know he was safe now.

When Bali got to his foster home he was nervous about everything being different. At first he would hiss to communicate but he was not aggressive. After he got used to the routine his real personality started to show. With patience and lots of treats his fearful look disappeared and he became a gentle cat who wanted love.

Bali is now a sweet and cuddly cat who enjoys being spoiled. He has learned what it feels like to be safe & he loves being petted. He starts purring as soon as you touch him and rolls over when he wants more attention. Bali has begun playing and really loves catnip toys. He does best in a quiet space with people he knows where he gets plenty of food and affection.

Loud sounds can scare him and he gets shy around new people but he is really just a big softy. He is starting to let people hold him now. He likes being up high & sitting in boxes and he even sleeps in the sink because he thinks it is cozy. Even though he lived on the streets Bali gets along well with other cats and greets them with chirps and purrs.

He tries to groom them because he wants to be friends. Bali also loves music. When his foster mom sings or plays a song he walks over and sits next to her to listen. He is enjoying his new life more every day. Bali found the right person to help him and now he is doing well in foster care. He is spending winter in a warm safe place with caring people and friendly cats around him.
