A cat showed up at a rescue center with her kittens and is now waiting to find her forever home this Christmas.

A calico cat named Sally arrived at Catz 4 Life with her six kittens. The rescue organization operates entirely through volunteers. Taking care of six hungry kittens had worn Sally down completely. She desperately needed help and rest. When the kittens reached six weeks old they started eating solid food. However they continued to crowd around their mother constantly. They climbed on her and wrestled with each other while batting at her tail during play. Aimee serves as president of the rescue organization. She explained to Love Meow that Sally was exhausted from the demands of motherhood. The kittens had grown into energetic and playful babies who kept their mother busy at all times.

Sally was ready to share her motherly duties with someone she trusted so she could focus on herself. When Aimee stepped in the kittens gathered beside her and formed a cozy cuddle pile before purring themselves to sleep. She was glad to start sharing some of the work.

While checking the litter Aimee was surprised to find that all six kittens were female. Four had calico patterns and two displayed charming cow-like markings. Once her kittens were being well cared for Sally started to relax and spent more time with the people around her. She would lie down on her side & knead the air with her paws while enjoying all the attention she received.

The kittens quickly became little bundles of energy. They ran through the house and climbed up cat trees and jumped high to grab their feather toys. But every time Aimee sat down they would come to her one after another & pile into her lap until she was buried under soft fur and the sound of purring. When it was almost time for the kittens to be adopted Aimee wanted them to go to homes where they could stay with at least one brother or sister. Then a family reached out to her asking about adopting not just one kitten but three of them.

The family had lived with elderly cats for many years and at one point had five of them in the house. After recently losing another beloved cat they realized they missed having a lively home full of cats. With only one 15-year-old cat left they were ready to bring new energy into their home.

They reached out about Trinket, Thingamabob and Knickknack who were three sisters that loved adventure and mischief. The trio settled into their new home quickly by zipping around and leaping onto furniture while filling every corner with playful chaos. It was a rare triple adoption but sometimes they do happen. Trinket Thingamabob and Knickknack will be fully spoiled.

Meanwhile Mama Sally rediscovered her playful side and even joined in games with her kittens. She’s a little over a year old and now that her kittens are older & able to play more she runs and jumps and plays. She even tries to lure them into chasing her as if she were one of the youngsters herself.

She’s also very affectionate. When I visit I sit on a pillow on the floor & lean against the bed. She lies on the bed behind me and purrs constantly while rubbing her face on my shoulder to make sure I give her attention too. Sally will never have to raise another litter. From now on she can enjoy being in the spotlight and feeling cherished and pampered.

Sally & her three remaining calicos named Gizmo Doodad & Gadget are prepared to locate their permanent homes where they can experience the joy and warmth that comes with this festive season.
