A cat was discovered concealing her kittens inside a closet. Now she is experiencing the wonderful life she had always wanted.

About two months ago a stray cat entered a yard and delivered her kittens there. Shortly after the birth she found a way inside the house & moved her babies into a closet. The Stray Cat Club volunteers explained that the mother was looking for a secure place & did everything possible to keep her litter safe. Sadly the conditions in that location were dangerous and when help finally came only two kittens were still alive. The mother held her surviving babies close during the journey to their foster home where they would receive proper care and a safe environment.

She had needed kindness and patience & a safe place one day sooner. When you spot a cat that needs help you should reach out & offer food and provide shelter. During the following weeks the two kittens who survived named Viktor and Cedric grew strong because their mother cared for them with devotion and gave them unconditional love. They developed into curious & playful little creatures & it seemed as if they had always known affection and never lived without it.

Their mother McGonagall could finally take some time for herself. The moment she heard a kitten cry she hurried to their side. Her maternal instincts remained strong as long as her babies were near. She watched over them every step of the way and did everything in her power to keep them safe.

McGonagall has adjusted well to foster care & shows herself to be a caring and gentle mother. Viktor and Cedric are developing quickly as they gain weight and grow into confident young kittens while reaching all their expected developmental stages. Since giving birth McGonagall has consistently prioritized her kittens above everything else and frequently ignores her own requirements to make sure they have what they need.

As the kittens developed into small bundles of energy that ran around and caused trouble McGonagall could finally feel at ease. She observed them with satisfaction as they played with toys and tackled each other and sometimes jumped on her tail during their games. It was difficult to imagine the circumstances in which they had been discovered, having transformed from being cold and frightened and vulnerable to being comfortable and protected & cherished.

When playtime was over the kittens settled down next to their mother and leaned against her while she groomed them. They fell asleep listening to the gentle sound of purring all around them. Their future looked promising now because fostering really does save lives. Viktor and Cedric spent several weeks in foster care before they were prepared to move on and start their next chapter.

The two feline brothers found homes right away but their mother continued to wait for someone to choose her. For the first time in a long time she did not have kittens to care for and could think only about her own needs. She quickly realized how wonderful this freedom was. She is happy to have a break from motherhood and has made great progress since her kittens went to their new families.

McGonagall started acting playful like a kitten and wanted attention from her owners. This let her real personality come through. She is a gentle cat who moves slowly and watches things carefully. She picks quiet times to come over for pets or comfort. She is a cat who learns to trust people gradually. Once she trusts someone you can see how sweet and affectionate she really is.

Once a shy stray cat McGonagall has settled into her indoor life and enjoys all the love and attention she always wanted. Now that her kittens have grown up and left, it is finally her turn to have a home where she is loved. She is learning that life is not just about surviving but about enjoying each day.
