Stray Cat Living Outside Receives a Christmas Surprise, and His Heart-Melting Reaction Says Everything

A woman found a stray cat living outside her home during the cold winter months and decided to do something special for the animal. The story has touched many people online. The woman posted a video on Instagram in early December showing a black and white cat spending time on her porch in the snow. The cat seemed to be looking for someone to help her find shelter. Although the woman could not bring the cat inside her house she thought of another way to keep the animal warm during Christmas. The cat appeared to be very grateful for what she received. The video shows the woman putting together a special gift for the cat. She explained that the stray had been coming around for at least a year. She had tried to find help through animal shelters and other people but nobody was able to take the cat in. She finally decided to buy a heated outdoor house for the animal. The heated shelter arrived just as the snow began to fall. The box even came with a decorative bow on it. The woman set up the warm house so the cat would have a safe and comfortable place to stay during the winter weather.

“It looked so cozy inside. Now I was hoping she will understand what it’s for. Seems like she likes it. It got warm pretty fast. She still doesn’t know what to do with this… Let’s try some food inside” the poster wrote.

Shortly after receiving the house the cat figured out its purpose and now uses it as her permanent residence. The poster explained that the cat now has her own little house and only comes out to eat and take short walks. Most cats dislike snow even though they have fur because they prefer warm & dry conditions. However this can differ based on breed and personality. Some cold-adapted breeds like Maine Coons and Turkish Angoras along with Siberians and Norwegian forest cats might enjoy playing in snow according to Catster. Many house cats dislike the cold & wet sensation that snow brings. Owners cannot predict if their cat will like snow until the cat experiences it. Cat owners whose pets enjoy snow should take safety measures. They should protect their cat’s paws by drying them and checking for debris. Cats need adequate food to maintain energy and insulation. The environment should be safe from hazards like blocked exits or traps. Warm resting areas should be available. Owners should watch for signs their cat is too cold including shivering and cold ears or paws. Other signs include lethargy and seeking heat sources. The video became viral on social media & has received over 714000 views and 70,000 likes on the platform. User Christinamatkin_bunny commented that a spy camera should be installed to provide updates on the poor little soul. Gabrielavancouver said the action was awesome & changed the cat’s life since she would no longer sleep outside. Pepper.the.orange added that the cat needs to be adopted. Newsweek reached out to @kotiki.proglotiki25 for comment via Instagram but could not verify the details of the case.
